Imagine yourself in beautiful Costa Rica.
We are in El Cajon, 9 km. From Grecia, 40 minutes from Juan Santamaria International Airport, at an altitude of about 4400 feet. Our temperatures range from 55 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit year ‘round, but most of the time it is in the 70s.
Our
neighborhood is safe, friendly and quiet, and it is accessible by
public transportation. Here
you can enjoy the beauty of Costa Rica. You will love the nature.
Our house overlooks the beautiful mountains, the Central Valley, and
you can see the volcano Poas at the top of the mountains. The
Poas volcano has the largest crater in the world, but don't worry, it
has not been active for over 50 years. You can drive to the top of the
mountain and look down into the crater. It's a wonderful picture making
opportunity.
Overlooking the Central
Valley, you will observe landing planes in the valley 30 miles away
like
shining birds in the sky, and at night you will see spectacular
views of the Central Valley covered with thousands of
lights . Come and experience amazing views of wondering clouds and mist
through the green
mountains. The picturesque town of Grecia has the distinction of
being called one of the cleanest towns in Central America.
The
Grecia area makes a perfect, centrally located home-base for exploring
the beauty and wonders of Costa Rica. Hourly bus service a half a mile
away takes you to Grecia and from there you can go to San Jose and to
anywhere in Costa Rica for about $1 an hour.
If
you have
your own car, you keep it securely locked inside our gated property.
You have an outside, private entrance to your apartment that is also
inside the gated property.
Grecia is northwest
of the
capital San Jose. Grecia is situated in Costa Rica's Central Valley
amidst beautiful mountain landscapes and rich lush sceneries.
The
local Tico community here is very friendly and eagerly welcomes
visitors into their homes as well as their hearts. Mostly farmers by
profession, the people here are relaxed and laidback. Being an
important agricultural hub of the country, sugar cane is grown and
harvested in Grecia in huge amounts, as is organic coffee and
pineapples. In fact, Grecia is called the "pineapple capital of the
world."
Grecia has a fantastic climate that is
fresh and
breezy, keeping the weather here near perfect most of the year. This
area is a great place to explore with its green and unspoiled
environment.
Our house and our efficiency apartments
are brand new (finished in 2008). They are very clean.
